Fernand Leger, Cover, Derriere le Miroir, 1955
Fernand Léger, (1881 - 1955), was a major 20th Century French painter who’s major influences were industrial technology and Cubism. He adapted Cubism to fit his style that composed of bold colours and cylindrical shapes. He was keen to create art that was accessible to ‘everyman’ and as a result his simplified take on Modern Art acted as a forerunner to Pop Art.
